    Chilled out flat
Used to cool my flat which is about 50m². It handles the task with ease, all rooms are cooled when internal doors are left open.It easily cools the flat down to 22°C when outside temperature is around 30. It could go cooler, but I get told 21 is too cold...Obviously the room it's running in cools first, but with some time, the flats temperature equalises.Noise wise, when the compressor is running it's pretty loud, even on 'silent' mode. Silent mode refers to the speed of the fan, which is definitely quiet enough to sleep next to if you have it running in a bedroom. However when the compressor turns on you may be disturbed. We run ours in the living room during the day and evening only. The remote is easy to use, but the range is only about 5m.The power cable is long enough, and the extractor hose is just about long enough for my use. I may buy a longer one.I used a zipped window vent kit with the hose, which works surprisingly well. Which is good as I am unable to bore a hole through the wall. The freeholder would probably take a disliking to that.Super happy with this purchase, should have done it s ling time ago.

    Lifesaver in summer
Noise level is reasonable, most of this type air cons will be loud, good thing is that it cools down the medium size living room within 20mins (from 28degrees to 21) so it can be set to minimum fan which is not as loud. Lifesaver in summer as I live on a top floor.

    Works but noisy
This was a life saver in summer of 2020, cooling an attic room effectively (especially when pillows stuffed around window to prevent air pumped out from tube re-entering). It needed to be turned off when on calls or when needing to concentrate for work as very noisy. Effective for kids attic bedroom to put on a hour or so before sleep to help cool it down.

Heavy and bulk ... but worth it
It's big.Stairs are a non-no - it must be stored on the floor level as it is to be used. Some may think it a tad noisy. But, it does the job and some (both simple fan or air-con ... have not tried dehumidifier). One tip for use in a bedroom. Shut all doors and chill your room at full blast for an hour before retiring ... then switch to simple, low fan overnigth. Bliss!! Wouldn't be without one now.

Works quite well, but VERY loud.
Unit cools small room fairly effectively.Adjustable fan levels and temperature on remote.Main issue is noise, it's so loud you can't hold a normal conversation if you're within about 4 metres of it! Measure around 65db which is pretty loud. Ends up surrounding it with packing boxes and foam so I could at least hear the TV!

Does cool the air down but is too noisy to have when watching TV or to sleep with. Purchased a Zanussi which is a lot less noisy and a lot cheaper.

Our saviour in the 34Degree heat!
This was not delivered when promised! Very disappointing considering the dire situation the UK was in during its heat wave. It was meant to save us on day 1 of the expected heat but didn't arrive. However, this large and very effective portable air conditioning unit blessed our home with its very powerful refrigerating powers! Once installed properly. The multiple ways to attach this to a window or attach through a vent in the wall was amazing.I would have like the venting pipe to be longer and smaller in diameter. Saying this, I don't know if this would compromise its ability to work. the engineers on amazon, please don't come for me!!It cooled my room and hall way down in around 1hour. saying this we like a cooler sleeping temperature so I'm sure it was probably only half an hour.I did not however, like the excessive noise it made. It was like, literally, having an old refrigerator in my bedroom, who's compressor or motor (I don't know how fridges or aircons work) was well past its sell by date. After moving this large item into my hallway in an effort to cool my room and combat the outrageous noise. On its very handy wheels. I realised that it was capable of cooling the whole top floor of my home. It is a moderately sized home for a family of two adults and one child. While it was in use I have not had to drain/empty it of water. From reading the previous reviewers, I believe this is due to its "self evaporating technology." Brilliant!Over all its got 5 stars for saving us in the heat and its ability to cool far larger of an area than expected but, lost some of it rating due to noise level.Good luck all in the next heat wave!!

Effective air conditioning, relatively quiet, had the best sleep, easy to assemble, sits neatly by the window, a longer hose or Delonghi extension would help. Otherwise, 5 star

    Beware very short hose (1m)
The hose is too short to be practible, even placed next to a window it won't reach the top light as shown. I understood from the questions and answers that the hose was 1.5m long so carefully measured it before purchase but that is not the case.I like the unit but now need to source a longer hose before I can use it.Suppliers response when I raised it was prompt but not particularly helpful (simply suggesting I Google it myself).

Does not come with window bracket
The video shows an expandable window bracket to fill the space. It must no longer come with this because the user manual doesn't mention it and wasn't included in the box. This means you'll likely have a huge air gap in your window and will need to fill it or by a kit online.

Great value, simple to use and energy efficient
Simple set up. (Would recommend buying a extension ventilation pipe as only comes with short hose).Easy to use, immediately effective with remote control.Noise is evident but no louder than a room fan at lowest level, high level fan is laud but not needed for everyday use.Huge help in getting a days work done, cooling down the household and getting a great night sleep in extreme summer weather.Recommended buy!

Started making horrible whirring noise after about 30 mins of use. Like a dentist drill!!
Hideous noise developed shortly after first switched on. Not a constant hum but sound like a dentist drill being plunged in and out of a tooth. And not a regular rate of plunging, if that makes sense. Worse than (what I imagine) Chinese water torture. Only bought because a 10yr old 'own brand' DIY store unit broke down. Bought a good brand (or so I thought) and paid top dollar. Expected way better than this.

It makes an odd whirring, rattling sound
When the item was delivered the unit was led down in the back of the van. My husband was not happy about this. Surely the air conditioning unit should of been loaded on the van upright. We are now convinced after removing the item from the box that it could of fallen over in transit. The right hand side of the unit was open we had to push it back together. When we turned the item on the compressor kicked in and it made a dreadful vibrating/whirring sound. My husband pressed the front and back of the unit together with his hands and the noise stopped, when he let it go it started rattling again. It was impossible to watch tv or sleep through the noise. We believe the item fell over in transit, it should not of been led down. We wonder if the noises it makes is because it was damaged in transit. As far as I have read there is no sleep mode.

    Overall a good buy
It does a great job of cooling a bedroom, but it's not quiet. I wouldn't expect an aircon unit to be "quiet" but I had hoped it would be a bit quieter. I'd be able to watch TV over it, and I can sleep over it, but a light sleeper like my wife can't.It's a reasonable size too, but I can manage to move it upstairs (not something I'd want to do every day.All in all I was happy to buy it and wish I'd bitten the bullet during the heatwave we had in the UK a couple of years ago. If we have another hot one we'll have a cool house.

Owner of Delonghi, EcoAir and Igenix aircons
After having read reviews about people complaining about this unit, I felt obliged to write a review. I own three portable units (igenix, eco-air and the delonghi) and have owned these for several years. Reason I have three different ones is because they are super heavy and I don't fancy carrying these between floors. So every year there is a heatwave the wife wants another unit in a different room, and I buy the ones which are discounted at the time. Bottom line is that my igenix has been running fine for 5 years now, but the hose connector isn't the greatest so it keeps falling out when I move it. Otherwise it's an excellent machine to keep a 5x5m bedroom nice and cool. Eco-air is similar, except the hose connector is better. During current heatwave it brings a 29c room down to 21c in about 2 hours.Onto the Delonghi - it is the QUIETEST out of all three, mainly because it has a fan strength setting. You have to understand that the hum of the compressor is something which will always be there! People saying that this machine is loud, either have a defective one or they don't understand the limitations of the machine. If you put fan to lowest setting it is the quietest out of all my machines (and each machine comes with the whisper quiet marketing BS). The reason the Delonghi is my favourite is because it feels the sturdiest AND can tackle a 7x10m room (kitchen extension). So my advise.. if you need to watch the pennies, buy the £300(?) Igenix, if you can stretch to £400-500 then buy the Delonghi.

    Strong beast of a machine
I was at first disappointed with this very big kinda ugly machine that is not so silent, nor white, (more like a light grey.)It is also very heavy at around 30 kilos, (not 20kg as the first reviewer states :/ )The first day of running it also emitted an unpleasant off gassing (like new car smell) which may not bother some, but I am sensitive, and had to leave it running while I was out for a day, crossing fingers it would not take too long.-However-It only took a day to off-gas and packed a very strong punch during our first heatwave day of 2019, (35c .)I was very pleased with it's performance; very powerful, more than enough for my master bedroom, cooled it in about 1 minute! The fan alone works very well too, when I want to shut windows opposite to the unit to block out my smoking neighbours, and still have circulation in the room.At the lowest setting the sound is fine; pleasant enough and one can watch netflix on laptop with no bother. At the highest setting one might want to wear earplugs when trying to sleep as it is a bit intense.Having said that, it is exceptionally powerful and the lowest setting is more than adequate to cool a large bedroom in a short amount of time.Hope this helps!

Well worth the money and works very well.
I am very happy with this product. In a medium sized room it is excellent. Within minutes it will have a very hot room cool and comfortable. Very easy to set up, lots of demos on youtube. Depending on the type of windows you have depends on whether you need to buy extra kit to form a seal. Personally I just used a thick blanket to seal the window gaps and it works a treat. On full power in a small room it is rather noisy. However, you won't need it on full power for long to cool a medium sized room. On low power the noise level is much better and still cools well. Even on full power I could hear my TV without having to turn it up. It isn't that expensive to run, very economical. The remote works a treat. All in all an excellent product for the price. I would recommend you buy it.

    Excellent air conditioning unit
This has proved to be a really good purchase! We have a modern super insulated house with lots of glass floor to ceiling doors - and the rooms get really hot in this hot weather. This unit easily cools a bedroom down from 27 deg to a comfortable 18 in 45 mins before bed, and bring in coasters can be moved from one bedroom to another easily. It can’t handle our large open plan kitchen/dining room, but at 65m2 I didn’t expect it to (it’s over twice the size it should be able to handle). Even then it still was able to drop the temperature in the room a few degrees.Very pleased with the product and would recommend.

    Noisy
This is a stunning looking AC. It is exceptionally noisy. Cools down the room very well but no one is going to get any sleep with it on. The other problem is the exhaust hose is far to short and ridged. Windows need to be near to the floor. The hose is also difficult to put together and falls apart quite a bit. Not really worth the money.

    Worth every penny.
This air conditioner has saved us from the hot UK summer nights (we are from the US and we were absolutely miserable without air conditioning last year). It cools our bedroom from 85F to 72F within about an hour. It keeps us cool throughout the night. I have recently been setting it at 69F and it stays that way throughout the night. Sometimes we are even sleeping with a BLANKET on top of us in the middle of summer thanks to this air conditioner. Worth every penny. Only negative is when it kicks on to start cooling, it makes a slightly loud sound. I have gotten used to it and it no longer wakes me wake me up. I have gotten some of the best sleep in the middle of summer thanks to this purchase!! Wish we had bought this last year.

    Have realistic expectations
The media could not be loaded.  SETUPVery simple to setup. Yes the hose could be a little longer. It is fine for most bedroom windows which is where it will usually be used. Extensions can be purchased.NOISEIt is noisy! More noisy than an average hotel air con even on minimum. I couldn't sleep next to it personally. You either use it in the daytime or cool down a room and turn off before bed. If it is tucked around a corner or you are a heavy sleeper you may be able to run it at night.COOLINGExcellent - it blows out icy cold air and cools an average bedroom from 27c to 20c in around 30 minutes. It will struggle in a large room such as open plan lounge / kitchen but that's to be expected. It will still cool the room and if you sit near it you will be chilly but don't expect miracles.OTHERNo need to remove water as this is done automatically through the hose. The remote control is fine. Very simple interface. It is pretty heavy. I'm a big guy and can only just manage to get it up the stairs on my own.Getting "proper" aircon installed may cost you £15k or so. We only get a few weeks of hot weather a year in the UK so this is a great alternative for less than £500

    Constantly needs draining
I bought this based on a Which review and have been left very disappointed. The main issue I have is that the unit needs draining, constantly! How is it filling with water that quickly? Granted the room it is cooling is ridiculously hot but I didn't expect to be emptying the unit every half an hour...which in itself isn't easy as the tube is very close to the ground and virtually impossible to get anything under to drain the water into. Sigh. It's too hot for this!

Bless this Machine: incredible AC unit, worth every last penny
Right so I'm an American (living in the West Midlands) so I know my air conditioning devices pretty well. My uncle was a licensed HVAC (indoor AC duct work and science) tech for over 25 years. I have to be honest, a lot of the negative reviews are bizarre and I can only conclude it's a lack of cultural exposure to AC on the part of reviewers here in Britain.First, noise. This unit is quiet as heck. This thing is basically silent by AC standards. Brits don't have a baseline to compare compressor noises against, so some of the negative reviews citing noise are just unrealistically harsh. From my perspective, this unit is very quiet. We have it at the foot of our bed and my British financee and I have no trouble sleeping with the compressor going.Second, the cooling ability. If you have the hose set up properly (which is vital for the system to work correctly) this unit is very quick and effective at cooling a room. Noticeable relief within 30 seconds quick. The room we have it in is about 20 cubic meters and we can get the temp down to 18 on a hot day within 15 to 30 minutes. We draw the curtains in the room and insulate the window so that heat doesn't bleed back in.This unit has a good environmental rating - we run it on hot afternoons into the evening and the impact on our electric bill is minimal.I *highly* recommend this unit, this is worth every last cent (penny?) - don't bother with other, cheaper units. THIS is the one. Get this one. Bonus is it's made in Europe and not Chinese generic with a brand slapped on top. Very good quality.*Slaps top of penguino* "you can fit so much [cooling capacity] in this baby"

Expensive, however you get what you pay for.
Not cheap but took our living room down from 26 degrees to 21 within an hour (used during the high temperatures this summer. Arrived quicker than expected. Noise level is as expected, it an air conditioner and I will take the lower temperatures over some background noise any day. You can hear it running but could still have the TV volume at the normal level.

    Brilliant in summer
This has been amazing in the summer. I can sleep with the noise, its not quiet but I don’t think its any worse than having a fan on. I used it at night in a large bedroom and in the day in a big living room and its cooked both spaces really well. Couldn’t live without it now.

    Cheap plastic, noisy, bad performance
The media could not be loaded.  I am so disappointed by this air conditioner. It's noisy, looks like a very cheap piece of plastic. It's not technically white, it's greyish and the remote control looks like it was made of the cheapest plastic. I added picture where you can see it compared to the white ventilator. Didn't expect that from delonghi for such a high price. The only reason why I'm not returning this is because now I'm really scared that every portable air conditioner is as bad. The air temperature outside is 27 degrees, all windows closed if course and the temperature inside is guess what? 27 degrees Celsius as well. I know Aircon is working only because usually the temperature inside is higher than outside in my place. The room is smaller than would expected to be for this Aircon with this BTU. You can also hear the noise from it on the video. It's not even near being silent

    Brilliant air con
Brought this ahead of the 2022 heat wave. It's a bit noisier that you'd like in a smaller room, similar to a cooker extractor. But it brings relief from the extreme heat, particularly when working from home. It really does do a great job.

Good value and cooling despite a few shortcomings
Got this from another website but thought I'd leave a review here to help the community.Cooling - This is terrific and like several others have said, it cools a room very quickly. We have our unit in the loft which is the hottest room in our house and the ac does its job well. The room is a large double bedroom and we have never had to set the temperature lower than 22C, even on the hottest day. Anything lower gets the room too cold and we freeze.Noise - Fan has three settings. All are acceptable and no issues at all. In fact, on a higher setting it is like white noise which helps you sleep! The issue I have is with the compressor. When this kicks in, you will definitely hear it. It is loud and the ac vibration will wake you up for the first few days but then I suppose you get used to it. Doesn't bother us anymore but definitely scared us initially to the point where I wondered if this was normal and almost returned it. However, there was no guarantee that an alternative one would be any different for compressor noise levels so didn't do so.Smell - There is definitely a gassy, fishy smell which we have in the room when the ac is on, even three months after purchase and regular use. Others have mentioned this too and that it goes away but ours has not...Exhaust pipe - The supplied pipe is short but just long enough to be stuck out a window. I contacted the company to enquire if they had a longer, approved exhaust pipe which fits the ac and was told that they don't recommend this and to use the pipe supplied. The supplied pipe is apparently the proper thickness and length to not cause the ac to overheat during use. Having said this, my research showed that many people have used longer exhaust pipes with this and other portable ac's with no issues. So this is a personal decision if you are considering a longer hose.Remote - Only recommendation i have is that it should have a backlit display or at least glow in the dark buttons for ease of use at night.Water collection and evaporation - This is done automatically via the exhaust hose and there is no need to empty out any fiddly trays which is a terrific feature.Emvironmentally friendly gas - The ac uses environmentally friendly gases so if you care about the harmful effects of releasing pollutants in the environment, then this ac should be in your shortlist.Vents - The vents are fixed and can not be moved or adjusted. I would have liked to be able to adjust the direction but this is not an option. They face upwards at roughly around a 45-70 degree angle.Weight - While this is 30kg, the unit has wheels and can easily be wheeled to another room on the same floor without having to lift it. Taking it up and down stairs (in theory) is an option but practically doesn't work out due to inconvenience and weight.Electricity consumption - In the three months we have had this ac and used it regularly, i have been surprised at how energy efficient it is. The difference in electricity bills is negligible and well worth it compared to the comfort you will receive in return for a good night's sleep.Registration - Wasn't able to register this ac on the company website as it was not listed. The only thing i can think of is that it may be a European model as opposed to one for the UK market and hence, not listed on the UK website.Price - Decent price for the comfort you will receive in comparison to paying £1.5k+ for an ac with an outdoor unit. Granted, that has its own advantages that it is quieter, doesn't take up space and nor do you have to leave a window open (for bugs to come in) but considering that an ac is only going to be used for 3 months of the year, this is worth it. If you have deep pockets then of course, an ac with outdoor unit or centrally installed HVAC style system would be the way to go.Overall, despite the shortcomings mentioned in this review, this is an ac I would recommend to beat the summer heat.

    Compact and easy to use
It’s a compact design, easy to move around and easy to use. No water is needed. Great if you want to use as a humidifier too. On low mode it is very silent. Cools the room fast.

No window set, ignored by seller
Good enough product. No window kit provided. This wasn’t made clear, in fact the listing makes it sound like there is which is why I chose this product over others. Not good enough really. Contacted seller and got no response.

Failed in less than 10 days!
Unit was set up according to instructions in my small workshop (3.5mx3m) exhausted out of a window and switched on. First of all, it did not cool the room to the 17degrees I'd set but decided that 20degrees was cool enough (to be fair it was 29degrees outside) and didn't cool any further and never has since. Then the outside temperature cooled considerably so I had no need to use the unit for a few days. However, I decided to switch it on again this morning only to find the unit being rather noisy and not cooling at all... I heard the refridgeration unit start up but then it cut out with a clunk that even moved the unit across the floor! Looked up the "Troubleshooting" section in the book and complied with the instructions regarding the exhaust hose - took it off to check whether it was blocked by anything (no) re-attached it and made sure there were no kinks in it, put it back out of the window and tried again... The unit works but is not cooling or exhausting anything and it is now blowing out warm air which I do not expect from an air conditioning unit!I expected a whole lot better for £491!!!P.S. I tried to register this unit on the DeLonghi website this morning and it didn't recognise the Model No.!

    Great cooling but very noisy.
The noise level is as much as a babys noise machine or more! We didnt need one when the air conditioner was on.

    Doesnt do what expected
Brought this back in May for our home office through the summer months which gets incredibly hot as the room is so well insulated.I'm currently sitting in the office and its 32 degrees outside, the unit has been on since 10am and the temperature inside the room (5.5m x 2.5m) at 4pm is 26 degrees. I measured up the room as it was easily supposed to be powerful enough but in reality the only way it would ever cool the room to 16 degrees (the lowest you can set it) is if the room was 18 degrees. You put your hands close to the unit and you can feel it's kicking out cool air but it's not really cold or anything, for example you could hold your hands there all day and it wouldnt be uncomfortable. Should add we have a hose on the unit and its vented out a sealed window.Even if we turn the unit on when its 23 degrees in the room it never takes off more than a couple of degrees of the room temperature.I read other peoples comments that the unit is crazy noisy (which ours isn't really), we can still watch TV and talk normally. Also some people say it really takes the heat off but ours doesnt. So now I'm stuck with a 9400BTU unit because it's so expensive to send it back that I'm not sure if it's working properly or not.I can't recommend this product because it doesn't do what they said it would do, it just seems to take the edge of the heat really.

Not that quiet (none of them are) but effective and good feature set
Lets get the obvious one out of the way first - "Quiet" is a relative term with portable air conditioning units. The fan isn't particularly noisy but the compressor is and that can't be helped. This unit isn't any louder than any others I've heard but you are going to notice it and you might not be able to sleep through it, if you're sensitive to noise. That said, this is actually a pretty great little unit. Plug it in and throw the hose out of the window, it doesn't get a lot simpler than that. It's also self-evaporating so there's no water tank to empty and it's easy to move around on castors. It cools my bedroom down from around 25 degrees to around 19 degrees in 1/2 hour and keeps it there, even without sealing the window.I can sleep through it so I just leave it running all night, but if noise bothers you, you probably could just set it running an hour before bedtime to chill the room down and hope that the effect lasts overnight. For me, a bit of noise is an easy trade off against a hot room so I'd recommend this all day long.

    Great value, nice product
I think this was a cheaper product as the model has since been updated. We found it brilliant. Cools the room down in minutes even with the hose just hanging out of the window - best at night when curtains stop warm air connecting back in. It is not silent but much quieter than our old portable air con. My o/h actually sleeps better with the white noise of this on. Great value and hard to live without

    Very good aircon unit.
In the heat of summer just past, this literally saved me some sweaty and restless nights. Cooled my room quickly and kept it cool all night. It looks smart, its powerful as the fan sends the air pretty far and whilst it's not the quietest it's something you'll definitely put up with just to have a good night sleep. The remote control is not the best and pretty cheap. Has to be aimed directly at the unit to get any sort of feedback at all.

Nightmare if there are missing parts - and it gets worse
Mine arrived (bought from and fulfilled by Amazon) with a missing part (air / dust filter).Amazon's approach to dealing with this is to replace the entire damn thing - and they won't even pick it up; I need to arrange drop-off. They apparently cannotDeLonghi's UK support crowd do not appear to support this model, and it appears impossible to get the spare part on Amazon.Nightmare.Update 21 June 2020: I tried registering the product on the DeLonghi site - product not found on the en-gb site.It just gets worse.

    Does the job well
While it is a bit bulky and a tad on the noisy side it is an absolute god send in a new build house insulated to within an inch of its life. It isn't that noisy if you use it on the lowest setting either really to be fair

The best basic Portable AC on the market but with some major drawbacks
This is my fourth portable AC unit for my 60 Cubic meter bedroom N82 is rated for 80. My past AC's (all of which went back to the seller within a week) I bought on specification and found either they are but too noisy , they are quiet but don't cool and finally most just don't work at all. After much research I found DeLonghi make the most reliable and dare I say "only reliable" portable AC on the market. However, out the box the AC performed excellently and was very happy but these AC's come with some drawbacks.Pros:1. Unit does cool the room within an hour, I got it to 23c after running 3 days which was pleasant as the outside temp was a very hot in 33c's. It does not matter what the temp the unit says it can reach what is most important is does the unit fill the room with chilled air and in this case it did. You would be surprised but other competitors just blow coolair within a meter of the unit. The wife and I think lesser known brands are running "a con" excuse the pun, and robbing buyers blind.2. Best build quality of all the ones I purchased , the design is also quite good and proves it is not a rebranded Chinese off the shelf like most of the other non branded units.3. At 9.5 BTU the N82 has a good spec than similar priced competitors.4. Got wheels on the bottom for easy placement and handle on the sides.5. Lowest sounding unit I have come across but portable AC's are in their own right still very noisy by design.6. De Longhi chills the whole room not just blows cool air (long as you buy right one to the size of your room so measure you room size and check with the spec)Cons:1. Remote is useless, does not sync with the unit so if you put the temp to 24 the unit will still show the old temp etc, no backlight (in this day and age is a must) and list of complaints about remote goes on.2. Does not go lower than 22 Degrees C on my unit (though may take bit more running in time to get lower temp). Also out the box don't expect it to chill the room in an instant, units take time at startup apx 10-15 mins.3. Unit is bulky , DeLonghi do make smaller versions at higher cost.4. On the N82 there is no "Chill and Dehumidify" function, on the higher models there is. This is not apparent in the specs.5. Needs optimum placement , works best when proximate to where you will be using the AC which may not be possible if your window is far away. In that case buy an exhaust extender but having massive piping may not look nice.6. LED on unit is on top so cannot see the digital display and what the room temp is from a distance.Final advice: buy a unit with a spec a step higher than you need to future proof the item (some have heater function which is nice in winter). Don't get pulled in by high specs on non branded units they simply are unreliable though of the ones I know of Honeywell, AEG etc make good units so may be worth looking into those brands too (just to be impartial) . After buying four other brands I am happy with the N82 as it is the ONLY unit that has actually worked at a reasonable price.

    Worth it
I'm very impressed. Even tho we are yet to experience a heatwave this year (2019), aircon worked very well, when o/s temperature was 27C. As all of the windows face south and its a penthouse apartment, it gets hot, real hot, very quickly. Aircon dealt with the heat remarkably well, I was surprised how hot the extraction pipe gets (good thing, this proves that hot air is getting extracted) . It's Def less noisy than 16" high powered pedestal fan. It's small enough and can be wheeled easily, no leaks, not too heavy (20kg) . It's dead easy to set up and use. Sleep mode, timer it's all there. Great buy.

Cools very nicely but noisey as hell. I measured 80db when in AC mode.
It seems the outer cover is poorly made so vibrates a lot when the compressor is on. On average its noise level is 80db. Sometimes it spikes a little more.I wish I could warp it as lifting from left side makes the nasty sound disappear and brings noise level down low enough to match that in the advert.

Pretty good for the intended purpose by design
The AC works well. It cools the room fairly well for the intended purpose by design. Cooling down the house (3 beds) isn't that effective but you can feel that inside is cooler than outside when outside temperature is ~>37°.If you are familiar with an AC system that has two separate units (one for outside and one for inside) and expect the same level of performance, then you will be disappointed. This unit will constantly draw (hot) air from outside in order to cool the room, whereas the system with separate units will circulate the same air inside the room and therefore achieve higher performance/efficiency. But if you know this drawback and appreciate the convenience of having an AC system in a single unit with wheels, then I think you will like it and certainly think it is worth the asking price. I am not familiar with other units from other manufacturers but I think the noise level is more than acceptable even at the max level. In fact, there is not much difference between min and max levels to me.I use it in my home office during work hours and the nursing room for about 15-20 mins before my daughter goes to sleep when the room is hot (>28°). Just a quick run for about 5 mins can lower the temperature by 1°.

    Reasonable cheap cool air
It’s ok for the money. A little lightweight, it only cools a small space, but it does that well enough.Using it in the bedroom - it’s not quiet of course but it’s not awful noise like some.Doesn’t tilt though so air comes out one direction only.

Mobility helpful for moving between rooms in loft extension - short outlet pipe
Reduced the heat to a bearable level in loft rooms when in the low to mid 30s.Mainly used in a small office space under the eves - a bit noisy to run during work calls and the short outlet pipe made exhausting through a Velux window challenging.A fabric window venting kit used to reduce the amount of heat re-entering the room as cooled.Worked well in a large loft room to make the temperature more appropriate for sleeping. I didn't leave it running, though probably could sleep through its operating noise. The outlet pipe can get really hot - pleased that it is suitably robust.Disappointed to discover that De'Longhi advise against extending the outlet pipe due to potential machine damage.

    Powerful chills - bit noisy
Its really quite powerful and only uses 800w max. Its also a bit noisy when the compressor initially kicks in - that can wake me up when just nodded off. Timer is very basic indeed. I'm pretty happy with it but am at my limit lifting it and carrying it between rooms - its very heavy. I cant fault the chilled air though and it doesn't seem to have a tank for the evaporated water that you need to constantly empty - guess it throws it in the exhaust?

Good quality Aircon with R290 refrigerant
After months of research I bought this air con with environment friendly gases r290, I would definitely recommend this after having used it for a month or so. German engineering , sturdy build and user friendly features and a remote. Noise level is ok at about 55/60 dB at low to medium mode. Is rare if buying some unknown brands which can come with harmful gases would recommend this.

good AC unit but very noisy
Great AC and it has worked well to effectively handle the heat we've been having but I would say that this is extremely noisy - definitely can't sleep with it in the room overnight as even in 'sleep mode' it will periodically 'jolt' on throughout the night (in a bid to keep the temp down) but this in turn 'jolts' you awake as it is a very deep loud rumbling noise through most of the night.

Great at first but broke after a few weeks unfortunately
Easy enough to set up, cooled the whole room down in about 20 minutes, the fan mode was good when standing directly above the vents too. But, despite operating the air conditioner exactly according to the instruction manual, the unit began to produce a fishy odour after a few weeks of light use.A fishy smell in electrical appliances is indicative of overheated electrical components, which can be VERY dangerous!! Always beware of such smells, if they persist after cleaning the filter. For our safety we returned it, (we had to pay for the return, £50ish, but are hoping it gets refunded), Amazon support was very helpful.(The photos are of how it looked on delivery, and we packaged it back up so it looked the exact same on return.)UPDATE:We sent it to the return address the Amazon adviser on the phone told us to, using the return label they emailed us. But it was 'rejected by the recipient'. DPD now list it as a 'lost item'.The second Amazon adviser we spoke to said the first adviser should have organised free collection because they categorise it as a bulky item. (We asked for collection but were told by the first adviser that it wasn't available for us).Hoping to still get a refund for the item and £50 postage even though Amazon rejected the return, so fingers crossed! A bit stressful as the item was so expensive, and we followed return instructions to the letter.

    Nipples like bullets.
I'm an avid sim racer but my games room is shared with 6 large snakes, to say this room was toasty is an understatement. Most evening were spent racing round the Nürburgring Nordschleife in nothing else but my racing boots and underwear, even with the window wide open the heat was too much to concentrate. I ordered this unit in the hope of chilling down my room so my racing would improve and not frighten the neighbours when I walk past the window. The unit arrived very quick but once I'd wrestled it upstairs I realised the hose was too short so had buy an extension. Now its all set up though what can I say except wow. I can sit there now in the pit lane and alter the temperature with the remote. It chills my room down so well I could hang my headphones off my nipples. So yes I would recommend this unit even if it's a little noisy.
